1,555 Hajj Pilgrims of Padang Debarkation Arrived in Indonesia

Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Committee (PPIH) of Debarkation of Padang, West Sumatra, recorded 1,555 pilgrims from the province had arrived in Indonesia until Tuesday which consists of four fying groups (kloter).

"1,555 pilgrims are consisting of 617 men and 938 women which are repatriated through Minangkabau International Airport in Padangpariaman," PPIH Secretary of Padang Debarkation, Syamsuir in stated Padang, Tuesday (Sept 12).

According to him, until the arrival of kloter IV all goes well and has not found obstacles in the process of returning.

He explained related to the arriving at Minangkabau International Airport, whole congregation was taken to Hajj Dormitory in Tabing and then released symbolically to regional committee.

Arriving at Hajj Pilgrims Tabing, pilgrims must pass through thermal detection (thermal scaner) to anticipate the possibility of contracting diseases from the Holy Land.

"This is done to ensure normal body temperature and if there is heat indication so that it can be taken anticipation step faster," he continued.

While up to now there are 13 pilgrims of Padang who died in the Holy Land. They are dominated by them those aged over 60 years or high risk.

Total number of Hajj of Padang Debarkation who departed to the Holy Land this year reached 6,337 people consisting of 4,629 West Sumatra people, Bengkulu 1,628 people, and accompanied by 80 officers spread in 16 kloters.

The number of pilgrims departing this year has increased about 20 percent compared to last year which only 4,946 people consisted of 11 kloters.

Earlier, Official of Public Relation of PT Angkasa Pura II Minangkabau International Airport, Fendrick Sondra ensures that it is ready to serve the arrival of pilgrims with all the facilities that have been prepared.

With regard to pilgrim aircraft used by large Boeing 777-300 ER type, he ensured the plane could land at BIM well.

"We have prepared everything from the navigation, parking stand and other supporting facilities," he said. (cha)
