SDIT Lubuksikaping Collects Rp21.7 Million for Rohingya

Lubuk Sikaping, (Antara Sumbar) - The Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) Cahaya Madani Lubuk Sikaping, Pasaman District, West Sumatra, raised Rp21,772,000 from fundraising held by the school to help Rohingya Muslim ethnicity in Myanmar.

Head of SDIT Cahaya Madani Lubuk Sikaping Mardianton in Lubuk Sikaping, Tuesday (Sept 19), said the fundraising was sourced from several schools in the area.

"We have the trust from educational world, then they collect it through us," he said.

He explained that the collected funds from SDIT Lubuk Sikaping was Rp9,795,000, from TK / RA Al Yaman Rp3,515,000, from MTsN 3 Pasaman Rp2,140,00 and SMAN 1 Lubuk Sikaping was Rp6,321,000.

"Previously on September 12, 2017 we have raised funds amounting to Rp7,234,000. The donations collected from 205 students and 20 teachers at SDIT Lubuk Sikaping," he said.

According to him, thanks to the incessant of media coverage which can foster the trust of several schools in the area to channel funds collected through SDIT Cahaya Madani.

"We are trusted to channel it through the Rohingya Humanitarian Ship Program initiated by the Jakarta Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Humanitarian Agency," he said.

Meanwhile, Vice President of ACT Syuhelmaidi Sukur greatly appreciated his concern in some areas to help victims of the humanitarian crisis of Rohingya.

"Insha Allah ACT will dispatch the mission of a third humanitarian ship with the aim of Bangladesh to help Rohingya refugees," he told.

The plan of a third humanitarian vessel that will send this aid depart from Tanjung Perak Port Surabaya on September 21, 2017.

"For aid sent through the first and second humanitarian ships have been sent to Somalia," he said. (cha)
