Padang Panjang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Padang Panjang Municipality, West Sumatra, has embraced the restaurant owners and hotels in the area to cooperate in creating halal tourism.
"We have a dialogue with business people in Padang Panjang, because they have an important role in creating halal tourism," Secretary of local Tourism Office Dalius remarked in Padang Panjang, Tuesday (Sept 19).
The role that can be done by restaurant and hotel owners in creating halal tourism, he explained by serving halal food, then provide mushala or a clean bathroom.
He said Padang Panjang the next few months will hold a variety of tourist events that will bring tourists both domestic and foreign.
So, he told, it is necessary to cooperate with business actors in supporting several activities, such as creating a comfortable atmosphere.
"The agreement is as a tool to create a mutually beneficial economic multiplex for businessmen and municipal government of Padang Panjang itself," he said.
According to him, without any support from various circles including businessmen, the event can not be done properly.
"It is time we support each other for the progress of Padang Panjang in various fields," he said.
Padang Panjang towards the end of this year will hold various tourism events such as Serambi Mecca Festival, travel mart, appreciation ambassador and jamboree teen creativity event, Tour de Singkarak, and Regional Cultural Festival.
A restaurant owner in Padang Panjang Ryan claimed to be ready to support various events that will be implemented by local government.
"We are ready to support the government in various events to create halal tourism," he added. (cha)
